Cab Calloway : Biographie
Cab Calloway est un chanteur de jazz amĂ©ricain nĂ© le 25 dĂ©cembre 1907 Ă Rochester dans l’État de New York et dĂ©cĂ©dĂ© le 18 novembre 1994 Ă Hockessin dans le Delaware. Personnage inscrit dans l’histoire du Cotton Club, Cab Calloway Ă©tait un chanteur qui avait une vraie prĂ©sence scĂ©nique de show-man. C’est en 1931 qu’il a Ă©crit Minnie The Moocher, devenue la chanson-clef de son rĂ©pertoire. Calloway a fait deux apparitions notables Ă Broadway, dans Porgy and Bess et Hello Dolly. En 1980, une autre gĂ©nĂ©ration a pu le dĂ©couvrir chantant son Minnie The Moocher dans le film The Blues Brothers.
