We are delighted to invite you to our new exhibition of African art, which will be dedicated to the ancient arts of Nigeria.

Ẹ káàbọ̀ sí Nàìjírná means ‘Welcome to Nigeria’ in the Yoruba language. Through this exhibition, we invite you to discover Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage. The selection of objects on display – whilst by no means exhaustive – illustrates various bodies of work, ranging from the Nok culture to Yoruba masks, and explores terracotta art, bronze casting, and the diverse aesthetics of the Benue and Cross River regions (...). Statues, masks and ethnographic objects bear witness to over 2,500 years of artistic history.

We wanted to combine a contemporary painting with this exhibition of ancient art by presenting, for the first time in Toulouse, the *Portes* series by the visual artist Patrick PAVAN.

A catalogue has been published for this event ; it will be available for purchase at the gallery and accessible online on the day of the opening.

The opening will take place on Friday 6 November, from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm, in partnership with La Bulle Mage (opposite the gallery), which is celebrating its first anniversary and will be offering food to enjoy on the premises.

Mathieu Cathala, a winemaker from the Aude region, will also be offering his wines for tasting and sale.
